What is Peppermint Bark?

Ingredients
- 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- 8 oz white chocolate
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a microwave or double boiler, then pour it onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer.
- Place the dark chocolate in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes, until firm to the touch.
- Melt the white chocolate and stir in the peppermint extract. Pour over the chilled dark chocolate layer and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies over the white chocolate while it’s still soft.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until the white chocolate is firm.
- Break into pieces with a knife or by hand, then serve.
Notes /Tips
For smoother chocolate: Temper if desired, or melt gently to avoid burning.
Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Refrigerate for longer freshness.
Variation: Use milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet for a sweeter bark.
